Counselling FAQs

GENERAL

GENERAL

Counselling can help with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, trauma, phobias, sleep problems, and personal growth. If you’re unsure whether counselling is right for you, feel free to reach out for a consultation.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or struggling with emotions that affect your daily life, relationships, or well-being, counselling can provide a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings. Many people seek therapy not just for major issues but also for personal development and improved well-being.

Our therapist specialises in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), hypnotherapy, mindfulness-based therapy, person-centred counselling and psychotherapy. Each approach is tailored to your needs depending on your reasons for seeking therapy and any goals you may have.

A typical session lasts around 60 minutes and involves a confidential, supportive conversation where we explore your concerns, identify patterns, and work on strategies for change. Sessions are designed to help you gain insight, find solutions, and feel more in control of your emotions.

The number of sessions varies depending on your goals and the nature of your concerns. Some clients see improvements in just a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support. We can discuss this in our initial consultation.

Concerns About Therapy

Concerns About Therapy

Sometimes exploring difficult emotions can be challenging, but this is a natural part of the healing process. Therapy provides a safe and supportive environment to work through these feelings at your own pace.

It’s important to find the right counsellor for you. If you feel we’re not the right fit, our therapist will encourage you to discuss your concerns. Therapy should feel safe and supportive, and Siobhan can help you explore other options if needed.

Generally, counselling is most effective when it is one-on-one. However, if you feel more comfortable having someone with you for an initial session, we can discuss this in advance.

We understand that unexpected things happen. Our cancellation policy requires 24-hour notice to reschedule or cancel without a fee.
